The Finnish pizza chain has been chosen as the 25th best pizza chain in the world.
Via Tribunali
The Finnish pizza chain Via Tribunali was chosen as the 25th best pizza chain in the world on Monday evening at a gala held in Madrid, Spain.
The choice was made by an Italian Top 50 Pizza guide, which rewards pizzerias in many different categories. Via Tribunali was chosen for the first time among the world’s best pizza chains. The pizzeria was awarded in the category Worlds Artesan Pizza Chains.
Iltalehti reached from Madrid Antti Kuitunenwho is the CEO of Pizzeria via Tribunal and one of the founders of the company.
– Great atmosphere, Kuitunen summarizes.
Via Tribunali
Founded in 2017, Via Tribunali was the first restaurant in Finland to receive the certificate for authentic Neapolitan pizza.
– Back then, there was no term pizza culture in Finland. It seemed that the Finns had been waiting for this style of pizza for a while. We invest in raw materials, dough and an authentic Neapolitan pizza oven.
Because there was demand, another Via Tribunali pizzeria was established, then another one. This year saw the opening of the seventh Via Tribunali.
Via Tribunali
There are currently restaurants in Helsinki, Turku, Tampere and Kolar. After the first Via Tribunal, a certificate has been applied for a few other restaurants in the chain.
The annual Top 50 Pizza Guide evaluates players in the pizza industry around the world and makes its selection based on pizza quality, service, ambience, waiting time and drinks.
In the competition, attention is also paid to the use of local and seasonal ingredients.
Via Tribunali
The justifications state:
– Via Tribunali is a chain of pizzerias and restaurants that is very loyal to the brand.
Kuitunen thinks that people have gradually learned to know their own pizza taste and know what kind of pizza they want to eat.
Neapolitan pizza is not supposed to have a crispy base. In recent years, less and less customers complain about it, but there are still customers who taste Neapolitan pizza for the first time and wonder about it.
– From the beginning, we have been able to tell why pizza is different and why it is exactly like this, Kuitunen states.
Via Tribunali
Many new pizzerias, especially Neapolitan pizzerias, have been established in Finland in recent years. Is our pizza market getting full?
– In the past, we have not had price competition for premium pizzas. Now premium pizzas with a lower price have appeared on the market, which certainly indicates that the market is getting quite crowded, Kuitunen states.
This fall, for example, Pikku Napoli pizzeria opened in Helsinki, selling premium pizzas for 10-12 euros.
