Wilfred Genee arouses distrust among VI viewers by not asking Özcan Akyol at all about the misconduct in his program Sterren op het Doek. “Have agreements been made?”
Things really can’t ever go normally with any TV program: even with the somewhat stale Sterren op het Doek, people have already misbehaved behind the scenes. Some editor had all kinds of angry outbursts and was therefore fired, but he did make a serious victim: a lady who has left the media world.
Scared and unsafe
Özcan Akyol was not yet a presenter of the program when this misconduct occurred. The issue is also separate from the complaint that was received about him: a female employee felt anxious in 2022 because of his intimidating looks. It made her feel unsafe. Anxious.
In any case: why didn’t Wilfred mention this misconduct in Özcan’s program when he sat down with Today Inside last Monday?
Agreements with Eus?
Wilfred states that many viewers of VI have reacted suspiciously to this. “People asked me last Monday after the broadcast whether we had agreed not to talk about Stars on the Canvas and that transgressive behavior, but you had nothing to do with that, did you?” he asks. BNR News Radio.
His radio guest Özcan confirms this: “No, that was before my time. The editor had an argument with a production manager, I believe. That person had already been sent away after one year. But I haven’t experienced that at all.”
No setup
Wilfred thinks it is right that he did not ask Özcan any questions. “No, that’s why. So all people thought we had made a setup. But that wasn’t natural at all.”
Özcan: “Those people were not properly introduced.”
Wilfred: “That’s just what I mean. Well, we have now resolved that.”
