VI trio takes record on package evening: ‘Sjoerd van Ramshorst is disappointed’

The men of Today Inside take a viewing figure record on package evening. Their World Cup talk show De Oranjewinter attracted the highest number of viewers to date yesterday. “Sjoerd van Ramshorst is disappointed.”

The Oranjewinter maintains SBS 6’s market share during the current Football World Cup in Qatar. For the second time, the program of Johan Derksen and his colleagues has reached the limit of one million viewers. Yesterday, 1.012 million people (24 percent) watched the Sinterklaas special, a viewing figure record.

‘Sjoerd is fed up’

Tina Nijkamp, former channel boss of SBS 6, thinks it is a top score. “The Oranjewinter with ‘little director’ as Sinterklaas, Job Knoester as guest and most importantly: René back at the table, recorded a viewing figure record and DEFEATS direct competitor Studio WK 22.”

The talk show Studio WK 22 is broadcast on the channel that broadcasts the World Cup, namely NPO 1, but got stuck at 928 thousand viewers (21 percent). “Special and unique. And how disappointed Sjoerd van Ramshorst will be. Still hurts.”

‘For the first time!’

It is special what is happening here, Tina explains. “It is the first time in TV history that a talk show that is not broadcast on ‘the tournament channel’ attracts more viewers.”

The other late talk shows, Op1 and Beau, attracted 811 thousand (30 percent) and 633 thousand viewers (17 percent) respectively. Those are good numbers too. “Traditionally, less television is watched on Christmas Eve than usual, although yesterday was very bad.”

WK and Paul

The big winners in prime time were Brazil – South Korea with 1.8 million viewers (33 percent) on NPO 1, the aforementioned De Oranjewinter on SBS 6, Sint en De Leeuw with 879 thousand viewers (16 percent) on NPO 3 and Expedition Robinson with 754 thousand viewers (14 percent) on RTL 4.

Tina: “For Expeditie Robinson, there is only one possible conclusion: the scores on Monday are quite disappointing, there is no delayed viewing, so I think we will see Expedition again on Sunday next season.”
