Daphne Bunskoek puts the poor ticket sales of the Today Inside event in the Ziggo Dome under a magnifying glass. “Tickets for next to nothing, just like with André Hazes Jr.!”
If you fill a room with fits and starts and prayers and pleading, should you still want it? André Hazes Jr. had difficulty filling the Ahoy and the men from Today Inside have not sold out all the tickets for their Ziggo event, with still a week to go. They will be there next Sunday to record the New Year’s Eve special.
For a pittance
According to media critic Victor Vlam, about a third of the tickets are still available. Although VI is a ratings force on television, there is not a lot of people willing to pay really hard punches for the gentlemen. The tickets sell for next to nothing at Holiday Auctions. You can get two tickets there for 5 euros: bizarre.
Daphne Bunskoek in last night RTL Boulevard: “The gentlemen easily managed to make a profit last year with a major event in Ziggo Dome. Then the tickets flew over the counter, but this year is different and the tickets are offered for a pittance at Holiday Auctions.”
Habbekrats
The VI men now look just like André Hazes Jr., says Daphne. “Loyal VI fans cannot have missed the fact that Wilfred, Johan and René will do everything they can to sell tickets for their VI Live in the Ziggo Dome. Just like with André Hazes Jr., these tickets are now being sold for next to nothing through VakantieVeiligen.”
Wilfred Genee defends the poor ticket sales in conversation with Boulevard: “I think there are still a few thousand tickets left. That was also the case last year. Only that last week do people wake up, we had that last year too, and they think: f*ck, we have to be there.”
Auction panic
Those tickets were not put on VakantieVeilingen out of panic, Wilfred believes. “Yes, Johan already started talking about it, like: what is this? I say: ‘Johan, they sold that second ring from the beginning and that has nothing to do with us.’ When we started this project, VakantieVeilingen asked: ‘Can we sell the second ring?’”
He continues: “The essence is: if you buy an expensive ticket downstairs, you may not suddenly end up sitting next to someone who paid half for it, but I really have every confidence in it. And not just me, the whole team.”
Too big jacket
Luuk Ikink thinks that the men of VI miscalculated the Ziggo Dome. “It’s a new trend, right? If you put on a very large coat, it is sometimes a bit difficult to fill it and then they have Holiday Auctions to sell the last cards. You can buy it there for next to nothing.”
Wilfred teasingly remarked in Today Inside last night, a few hours after the broadcast of Boulevard: “I just wanted to thank the people of Boulevard, because they ensured that ticket sales went through the roof tonight. Yes, we are going through it very quickly now.”
