VI star Job Knoester thinks that Ali B is being tackled way too hard

The Johnny de Mol case shows clearly that we should not be so quick to condemn discredited artists such as Ali B and Marco Borsato. That says Today Inside fame Job Knoester.

Johnny de Mol has gone through a two-year publicity hell because of very strong and initially very credible accusations from his ex-fiancée Shima Kaes. However, her declaration has been dismissed in a devastating way by the Public Prosecution Service, so that Johnny’s name has more or less been cleared.

Job critical

Critics now believe that Johnny deserves an apology for the way he was put away. And Job Knoester, the lawyer who is known for his appearances in Today Inside, thinks that we should especially learn from it.

Job states that Johnny “appears to have been wrongly damaged.” “Nice, those apologies, but they do not have as much impact as the previous tendency to pillory people in a modern way – because via (social) media.”

Ali at home

After the Johnny story, we may also have to be a little more lenient with other controversial celebrities, says Job. “Meanwhile, Ali B and Marco Borsato are at home. At least they don’t work. Why: Because accusations have been made. And the fact that no judge has spoken yet and no facts are known yet does not matter.”

He continues: “The community does not need a judge. They have already been convicted. And cancelled. And take Glennis Grace. There is a chance that she will be convicted of a violent crime. But even if that is the case, she remains part of society even after conviction. And then she has to work. She does that by singing.”

‘People make mistakes’

We must be more patient, is the message of Job. “People make mistakes. But before we know that, facts have to be established by a judge. Media should be more reserved and not shed crocodile tears about Van Dijk or De Mol. Take more responsibility yourself as the media.”

Finally, he also pleads for a little more forgiveness: “And if facts do show that someone is wrong, a constitutional state will respond appropriately. If necessary, someone will be punished and/or a treatment measure. And then someone has to rejoin after that. If everyone who makes a serious mistake is cancelled, it becomes quiet.”
