Gosen’s contract with the Champions League finalists runs until 2026, but after his permanent move last summer the German was not able to assert himself and only played three of his 32 appearances over 90 minutes in Serie A last season. So far there have been five goals and one assist in 58 competitive games in Gosen’s Inter balance sheet. The market value of the native of Emmerich had recently been reduced four times in a row, the former maximum of 35 million euros has now been reduced to 15 million euros.
With Waldschmidt, Kruse & Co.: The most expensive additions to VfL Wolfsburg
It remains to be seen which of the two interested Bundesliga clubs will eventually win the bid for Gosens. When asked about the rumours, Captain Maximilian Arnold recently announced that access to his format would “of course” do the “Wolves” good. Sports director Marcel Schäfer, however, kept a low profile: “It’s no secret that we only have one player in the left-back position with Nicolas Cozza.” Wolfsburg has now invested around 32 million euros in the squad for the 2023/24 season and has eleven departures.
Next to Robin Gosens: Union Berlin talks to Monaco’s Ismail Jakobs
Union Berlin’s managing director Oliver Ruhnert recently made it clear that one or the other good idea for the left defensive flank also existed away from Gosens. One of them is the former Cologne player Ismail Jakobs, whose contract with AS Monaco runs until 2026. According to the TV broadcaster, there have already been concrete talks about the possibility of a change, with a transfer fee of between EUR 10 and 12 million. An official offer has not yet been made by the Köpenicker, it is said.
