Nuremberg loan ended prematurely
Yun-sang Hong’s time at VfL Wolfsburg ends two years after his permanent move to Lower Saxony without an assignment. The 21-year-old left winger joins his youth club Pohang Steelers, both clubs confirmed the move on Tuesday.
Hong came to Wolfsburg in winter 2021, initially on a six-month loan basis and then on a permanent basis from the Pohang Steelers in the summer, but was immediately loaned to SKN St. Pölten and then to 1. FC Nürnberg. There, Hong was scheduled for the second team until the summer of 2024, for which he scored seven goals and provided nine assists in 26 games in the Bayern Regionalliga last season. However, the contract with the “Club” has now been terminated prematurely in order to enable the move to South Korea.
