Contact Gentner
At 20, Ardon Jashari is the youngest player in the Swiss squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The defensive midfielder from FC Luzern made his debut in the last international match in the Nations League at the end of September when he came on as a substitute against the Czech Republic (2-1) in added time. His performances in the Super League were convincing enough, which not only earned him a place in the “Swiss Confederates” squad, but also got him on the VfL Wolfsburg list.

The Lower Saxony Bundesliga club has Jashari a report from “Picture” According to him, he has been observed intensively in recent weeks and is said to have been in the stadium with a small delegation led by sports director Marcel Schäfer in the last game against table leaders BSC Young Boys (0:3). Swiss media had previously linked Jashari to VfL. As in twelve of the previous 16 games, the left-footed player led Lucerne onto the field as captain. It was only in January that he made the final leap from the U21s to the pros after making his debut in 2020.
In addition to Wolfsburg, TSG Hoffenheim are said to have kept an eye on Jashari. An advantage for VfL should meanwhile be the good contact with sixth-placed in the Swiss Super League. With Christian Gentner, a former Wolfsburg professional is also still under contract in Lucerne and, as a former teammate, serves as a direct contact for Schäfer.
In the most recent market value update, Jashari was among the winners, jumping from 1 to 2.5 million euros. In the case of a change in winter or at the end of the season, a sum at market value level will probably not be enough. On the one hand, because the 20-year-old has the opportunity in Qatar to continue playing his way into the limelight, and on the other hand, because he only signed a working paper in Lucerne in June that was dated until 2026.
