VfL Wolfsburg announced a departure the morning after Deadline Day. Nicolas Cozza is joining French first division club FC Nantes. In France, the transfer window was open until 11 p.m., so the papers were submitted on time. The 25-year-old full-back will be on loan until the summer; a purchase option is not part of the deal.
Cozza’s contract in Wolfsburg is dated until summer 2027. In the current season, the Frenchman, who was signed from Montpellier for 500,000 euros in the winter of 2023, was only on the pitch in seven games for a total of 297 minutes. With Joakim Maehle (26), Ridle Baku (25), Rogério (26) and Kilian Fischer (23), coach Niko Kovac still has four options for the full-back positions.
