Großwallstadt (dpa) – VfL Gummersbach is back in the Handball Bundesliga after three years. The rise of the traditional club is perfect with the 27:27 of ASV Hamm-Westfalen at TV Großwallstadt.
After the 34:26 at the SG BBM Bietigheim, the Gummersbachers from the remaining five games would have sufficed with a single further point for promotion. Due to the loss of points by second-placed Hamm, this is now prematurely sealed.
