First summer entry
With Swiss central defender Noah Loosli, VfL Bochum have signed their first external signing for the coming season. The 26-year-old will come from Grasshopper Club Zurich on a free transfer after his contract expires and has signed with the Revierverein until 2026 – the contract is valid for the first and second leagues, as announced by VfL.
“We have observed Noah Loosli over a longer period of time and are convinced of his abilities,” said Marc Lettau, technical director at VfL Bochum, in a press release. “Noah has an exceptional willingness to perform and has continuously developed over the past few years. The fact that he decided to join our club at such an early stage is a strong signal.”

Loosli himself said: “It’s my first station abroad, that’s a big step for me. But I trust myself. German football is closely followed in Switzerland, the quality of the Bundesliga is extremely high, even in the 2nd Bundesliga enormous. I’m really looking forward to VfL Bochum and the league, although of course I’ll keep my fingers crossed that VfL stays in class.”
The 1.86 meter tall defender comes from the GC youth, but spent several professional years at other clubs: he was on loan at FC Wohlen and FC Schaffhausen before FC Lausanne-Sport signed him in 2018 for 470,000 euros. In the canton of Vaud, Loosli played 97 competitive games and thus the most for a club (7 goals). During this time, it increased its market value to up to 1.5 million euros. In 2021 he returned to Zurich on a free transfer.
