According to “Bild”, there is already an agreement between VfL Bochum and Magdeburg on the transfer fee. The FCM will therefore receive a fixed 1 million euros, further bonuses that still have to be negotiated could follow. Kwarteng would be only the eleventh VfL addition to break the million mark. Most recently, in the summer of 2008, Bochum paid out a seven-figure sum for four players.
Before switching to VfL Bochum: Kwarteng starts at 1. FC Magdeburg
With ten goals, Kwarteng was 1. FC Magdeburg’s top scorer last season. The attacking midfielder, who joined the second division club in January 2022 as a professional without a club and since then has had a steep development, was able to increase his market value from 125,000 to 900,000 euros at FCM. The next plus could follow in the upcoming second division update on June 28th. “Here in Magdeburg I found my love and fun for football again. That’s why Magdeburg is definitely an important station in my career,” Kwarteng made clear in an interview with the club.
