VfL Bochum gives coach job guarantee

Thomas Letsch should remain coach of Bundesliga club VfL Bochum even in the event of relegation.

“We are 100 percent convinced of him and his work. Thomas Letsch will remain our head coach in the new season, regardless of the outcome of the current season,” said VfL CEO Hans-Peter Villis to the Bochum magazine “Tief im West”.

Letsch’s contract applies to the Bundesliga and the second division and runs until the summer of 2024.

VfL coach recently in conversation with Gladbach

Letsch took over VfL last September as they were bottom of the table. Before the last day of the game, Bochum are in the relegation ranks of the Bundesliga. The Revierklub welcomes Bayer Leverkusen this Saturday.

There had recently been rumors about Letsch as a possible successor to Daniel Farke at Borussia Mönchengladbach if the club from the Lower Rhine parted ways with the 46-year-old after the current season and Bochum were relegated.
