Bundesliga soccer club VfL Bochum has extended Cristian Gamboa’s contract, which expires at the end of the season, by one year until June 30, 2025. The 34-year-old has been playing for VfL since 2019 and has played 112 competitive games since then.
“Cristian Gamboa is an important element of our squad, he is someone who always leads the way. He is an absolute model professional who doesn’t spare himself and despite his intense style of play still has an amazing physique,” said sports director Marc Lettau.
Even before his contract extension was announced, Gamboa had stated that he wanted to play for “two or three more years” and end his career in Bochum: “This is my team. The club has grown close to my heart.”
