VfB Stuttgart: Serhou Guirassy makes transfer decision

Striker Serhou Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart has apparently made a decision about his personal future.

As “Sport Bild” reports, the 27-year-old Guinean is not drawn to Fulham in the English Premier League. Guirassy had received an offer from tenth in the table last season, but rejected it, they say.

The Fulham project is said not to have irritated the attacker enough. He doesn’t want to “change to England no matter what,” writes the tabloid.

Guirassy should also keep his lavish salary at VfB Stuttgart. This is said to have been significantly increased when the Swabians signed him from his ex-club Stade Rennes at the end of May with a purchase option for nine million euros.

Guirassy is now said to be the top earner in the VfB squad. The term of the contract does not end until 2026. An exit clause of 15 million euros expired on August 11.

In the meantime, there are many indications that Stuttgart life insurance will remain in place until at least next summer.

VfB Stuttgart loses another top performer

VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth kept a low profile in the Guirassy case after the brilliant 5-0 win at the Bundesliga opener against VfL Bochum on Saturday.

“Today I would put the joy of the victory in the foreground. We can talk about transfer issues again tomorrow, we’ll leave them out today,” explained the Stuttgart manager.

Guirassy could stay, but with Konstantinos Mavropanos VfB loses another top performer from last season after Wataru Endo’s move to Liverpool. According to media reports, the Greek defender is drawn to Conference League winners West Ham United.

There are also rumors of emigration at VfB Stuttgart about Borna Sosa. FC Sevilla is considered to be interested.
