After Mateo Klimowicz was unable to gain the game practice he had hoped for at Arminia Bielefeld, he is moving on ahead of time, as expected. The 22-year-old, who was originally on loan from VfB Stuttgart until the end of the season, is moving to the Mexican first division club Atlético de San Luis. Once again, the Swabians lend the offensive player for a year. According to reports, the agreement should also include a purchase option in the amount of 3 million euros. Klimowicz is under contract with VfB until 2025.

“For Mateo it was primarily about competition practice. We found a very good solution with Atlético San Luis. We are convinced that Mateo will quickly acclimatize there and will have the opportunity to take another important step in his sporting development. We wish him all the best and much success on this path,” said sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth about the U21 European champion of 2021, who only completed six short assignments for the DSC.
