VfB Stuttgart: Market value plus for Mateo Klimowicz in Mexico

Complete update after Clausura

After the market value update in the Mexican Liga MX there is a new most valuable player. Colombian striker Julián Quiñones (26) is up €3m to €9m to become not only the biggest winner, but also draws level with previous leader Fernando Gorriarán (28) of Tigres UANL, who is unchanged. Quiñones was Atlas Guadalajara’s second-best scorer in the past Clausura with 12 goals in 17 games.

Uruguay’s new international Maximiliano Araújo (23) is in third place. The left winger from Deportivo Toluca increases his market value by 1.5 million to 8.5 million euros. The big winners also include Tigres professional Sebastián Córdova (26; 6.5 million euros), Juan Manuel Sanabria (23; 5 million euros) from Atlético de San Luis and Fidel Ambríz, each with a plus of 2 million euros (€20; €4m) from Club León FC.

There is also a small plus for the only German legionnaire Mateo Klimowicz (22). The U21 European champions from 2021, on loan from VfB Stuttgart to Atlético de San Luis, jump from 1 million to 1.2 million euros. In 16 games since joining at the beginning of the year, Klimowicz has contributed one goal and one assist, but recently lost the regular position he had won in the meantime. The biggest loser of the update, however, is Cristian Arango (28) from CF Pachuca, who falls from the top 10 with a minus of 2 million to 5 million euros – and on July 1st for just under 5.5 million euros to Real Salt Lake City will return to the MLS.

This is how the Transfermarkt market values work

The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
