Attacker Ibrahim Maza has featured in the last four second division games for Hertha BSC. It remains to be seen whether the 18-year-old homegrown player will continue to show his skills in the capital beyond the coming summer. As the “Picture“ reports that VfB Stuttgart is recruiting the services of offensive talent Maza.

Sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth and scout Stefan Brandenburger are said to have sat in the stands during Hertha’s 2-2 draw against Holstein Kiel to take a closer look at the youngster. During the half-time break there is said to have been a meeting with Maza’s agent Rafael Kazior (CAA Stellar) and the player’s father.

Maza was reportedly on the list at Werder Bremen and VfL Wolfsburg last season – the scout Brandenburger, who was working for the “Wölfen” at the time, is now working for VfB and is said to have warmly recommended Maza to manager Wohlgemuth. The right-footer is contractually bound to Hertha BSC until 2026. On May 27, 2023, in the 2-1 win in Wolfsburg, he became the club’s youngest goalscorer – at 17 years, six months and three days. Maza missed the first half of the 2023/24 season due to a meniscus injury.

This is what the TM community thinks about a VfB transfer of Hertha talent Maza

According to reports, a transfer fee in the mid-single-digit million range could be due for the German junior national player. There is skepticism in the TM community that Maza will actually find his way to Stuttgart: “That makes little sense on many levels. Stuttgart will not be able to pay a mid-single-digit million amount. At least not for an 18-year-old talent. And then also in the position in which most of our own talents are found and are currently on loan,” says VfB fan “Pippoholic”.

User “rabbit1893” says about the rumor: “If there’s something we don’t need, it’s talented strikers. We currently have Faghir, Sankoh, Kastanaras and Milosevic. In addition, Pfeiffer and Perea, who we first have to sell. It is therefore highly doubtful that we would now pay a mid-single-digit million amount for such a newcomer who has not yet played a full season in the second division. Especially since we have other things to do and we have to manage our money.”
