Muscle injury
VfB Stuttgart will be without Hiroki Ito (24) for the rest of the year. According to the club, the regular defender of the league’s surprise team suffered a muscle injury and will therefore no longer be available until the winter break. The Japanese has featured in all twelve Bundesliga games of the third-placed team so far and has been in the starting line-up eleven times.

“The loss of Hiroki clouds the joy of our victory in Frankfurt because Hiroki is a very important player for us with his footballing qualities and his mentality,” explained sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth. “Unfortunately, the injury means we will have to be without him for a long time. We wish Hiroki a speedy recovery.”
