Bundesliga soccer club VfB Stuttgart is repositioning itself in terms of marketing. A long-term contract was concluded with a sports rights marketer, the Swabians announced on Monday.
VfB Stuttgart will be working with the sports rights marketer SPORTFIVE for the next five years. In this context, both sides have developed an “innovative marketing model”.
In the future, the new partner will support the Bundesliga club in selling its rights, the support of existing sponsors and the implementation of marketing rights remain the sole responsibility of VfB Stuttgart.
The aim of the cooperation is to promote the acquisition of new sponsors and the development of new marketing products. “In addition to the further development of the content of the marketing area and significant increases in sales, this cooperation also gives VfB greater planning security for sponsorship income and immediate income through an agreed signing fee,” said Stuttgart.
“Absolute win-win situation” for VfB Stuttgart
CEO Alexander Wehrle confirmed that the club was pursuing “ambitious goals” in this regard. They want to “exploit more of the potential of VfB Stuttgart”, both in “classic sponsorship, with new digital products and content formats and with the stadium as a platform for events”. In this way, the Bundesliga team can build a stronger “economic foundation”.
The new partner SPORTFIVE is “the perfect solution” for these goals, according to Wehrle. Rouven Kasper, Head of Marketing and Sales at VfB Stuttgart, also emphasized that the club “kept the steering wheel of marketing” in its own hands. Now, however, they are using “a more powerful engine that will accelerate our marketing much faster and bring us forward”. This is an “absolute win-win situation”.
