VfB Stuttgart confirms interest in Nübel – FC Bayern rejects the offer

Alexander Nübel will probably leave FC Bayern in this transfer window. VfB Stuttgart has now confirmed their interest in the goalkeeper. The Swabians are said to have been rebuffed with a first offer.

As the “Bild” newspaper reports, FC Bayern has rejected an initial offer from VfB Stuttgart. Accordingly, VfB Nübel wanted to borrow for a year and pay the Munich team 500,000 euros.

According to the report, that was “far too little” for the German record champions. You don’t want to let the 26-year-old go for such a small sum.

VfB sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth has meanwhile confirmed Stuttgart’s interest in Nübel, but ruled out a quick decision.

“Yes, we are in talks. But we are in a lot of talks and it’s the case that we end up having more talks than contracts are signed,” said Wohlgemuth after the Swabians’ 4-0 win in the friendly SSV Reutlingen.

There was only 17-year-old Dennis Seimen between the posts. Fabian Bredlow, who was promoted to regular keeper during the previous season, was injured and Florian Müller left VfB for SC Freiburg.

Wohlgemuth is looking for a solution that is “economically balanced and also helps immediately in the first step”. He could “curb expectations” that a new goalkeeper will join VfB in the near future.

Bayern coach Tuchel: “We know his opinion”

According to reports, FC Bayern is trying to sell Nübel. Among other things, “Bild” recently called a sum of around eight million euros as a transfer fee. A loan is not off the table yet.

At a press conference on Saturday, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel said with a view to Nübel: “We know his opinion and that of his advisor.”

The ex-Schalke player in Munich does not want to be satisfied with the role as number two. His agent made that clear time and again in the past.

Nübel to the secret meeting at VfB Stuttgart?

“Sky” recently reported that Nübel traveled to Stuttgart for a secret meeting on Thursday to personally discuss a possible change with those responsible at VfB.

In the Ländle, Nübel, who had returned to southern Germany on loan from AS Monaco after two years, met with CEO Alexander Wehrle, head coach Sebastian Hoeneß, sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth and goalkeeping coach Steffen Krebs.

In addition to the Stuttgarters, Premier League relegated Leeds United should also put out feelers to Nübel. According to “Sky”, the Peacocks have not yet made an offer. In contrast to VfB, the English club is aiming for a permanent commitment.
