VfB Stuttgart: Chris Führich had an offer from the Premier League

Bundesliga market value winner

On Wednesday, new national player Chris Führich from VfB Stuttgart was one of the winners in the Bundesliga update, tripling his market value to 12 million euros. The 25-year-old winger, although already at a good level in the German upper house in previous years, is experiencing his big breakthrough this season. A club from the Premier League apparently already recognized that this jump in performance would be possible. How “Sky“ reports that Führich received an offer from the English House of Lords in the summer.

An unspecified club is said to have offered around 15 million euros for the former youth player from BVB and Schalke 04, among others. However, the club and players refused, Führich was happy with the Swabians and his contract in Stuttgart is valid until 2025. Through Wataru Endo (30; Liverpool), Konstantinos Mavropanos (25; West Ham) and Co., VfB received 49.9 million euros in transfer fees in the summer. Selling Führich was therefore no longer necessary for the Bundesliga club’s financial situation. In the future, the club would be willing to discuss an offer between 15 million and 18 million euros, according to the broadcaster.

Führich recently received a lot of praise for his performances this season, including with the DFB team. For example, Bayern veteran Thomas Müller said last week: “I was surprised that a player like Chris Führich hasn’t made the leap into the spotlight more quickly. I have to ask him how his career has been so far, because a player with so much wit and agility, with good shooting technique, can only show his potential regularly at Stuttgart in his mid-20s.

National coach Julian Nagelsmann emphasized that Führich currently has exceptionally good “momentum”. The technically adept offensive player moved from SC Paderborn to VfB Stuttgart in 2021. “I didn’t plan that much, I didn’t expect that much, I was just looking forward to being here,” said Führich after the first days of training with the national team.
