8 million would be a big disappointment. Sosa’s start of the season or not, for this fee he is without question being sold well below value and that even on the deadline day without a possible replacement and without any resale participation! In my opinion, a very weak deal for VfB, Sosa has scored in double digits every season.
The player’s desire to change is one thing, but the conditions should be roughly right.
Even if you were able to reinvest this 8 million (for which there is no time and at VfB the money disappears into the black hole anyway) you would never get a suitable replacement for this sum.
All the best Borna, thanks for these dream flanks…
8mio is not a big disappointment, Sosa was absent in the final sprint of the 22/23 season and then didn’t perform as well as before, and he was well replaced by Ito, who plays more defensively and isn’t a rail player. If we continue to play with a chain of four, Ito will play on the left and in the IV, Rouault should come from Toulouse, who will also come when Sosa leaves. He will come on loan with an option to buy, replacing Mavropanos. He improved his market value from 4m to 10m last season missing just 1 game in Ligue 1 and he is only 22. He will establish himself alongside Anton and bring stability and consistency just like Mavropanos did. If all goes according to plan, Ito will replace Sosa on the left. The dream crosses would be gone, yes, but we have much more stability in defense and have taken 8 million.
Good transfer policy in Stuttgart in my opinion.
