Angelo Stiller led VfB Stuttgart to win the DFB Cup after the ligament injury. Last second division Arminia Bielefeld was without chances in the final after two awarded top-class opportunities. The Swabians defeated the underdog from the 3rd division 4: 2 (3: 0). It was the first title win for VfB after the 2007 championship and means the Europa League participation in the coming season.

Stiller, called up by coach Sebastian Hoeneß from the start, was involved in the Swabians’ first three goals: First he used Nick Woltemade, who scored the 1-0 (15th). Before the 2-0, the international initiated the counterattack with a wide ball, which Enzo Millot (22nd) and also 3-0 by Deniz Undav was the 24-year-old the preparer (28th). Millot’s second gate (66th) finally scored the lid on Stuttgart’s cup trium. The 1: 4 of the Bielefelder from 150 seconds before Julian Kania gave the East Westphalia again the tailwind (82nd), which became stronger when Vagnoman hit his own goal (85.). But then referee Christian Dingert whistled after five minutes of stoppage time and released the Stuttgart into a lavish cheering night.

Arminia loses the game in the first 12 minutes

The game could have taken a completely different course if the Bielefelders had not only been aggressive, but also freezing cold in the first twelve minute. It was not completed 30 seconds when Louis Oppie fits from the left after a quick advance and Sarenren Bazeee tried to slide into the ball, but came one step too late.

The “would have, had, bicycle chain” in the twelfth minute: Joel Grodowski came forward again via the right defense side of the Stuttgart side and fit inside. Oppie extended the ball a bit happily, so that Bazeee came to the end very freely from a short distance in front of VfB keeper Alexander Nübel. The armine just wanted to make the lead goal too beautiful and shot the ball on the ball. The Bielefeld Momentum was destroyed with the two chances awarded.

Half one: Stiller Festival

The Bielefelder then brought the cold lax and the overview of Stiller very hard back to the bottom of the facts. After a discount from DSC goalkeeper Jonas Kersken, the director used Arminen-Kät’n Mael Corboz uncertainty and sent Woltemade on the trip. The new international shook his Bielefeld opponent easily and overcame Kersken with a placed shot.

After a Bielefeld corner, Stiller then hit the ball from his own defense. Sam Schreck and Marius Wörl disabled each other and opened the ideal counterattack to the VfB attackers at which Undav fit at the right time.

And the third goal was also scored with the help of Arminia Bielefeld: Maximilian Große went unnecessarily into the dribbling against Stiller when building the game, who grabbed the ball. Again, the number 6 switched on lightning -fast and fit perfectly on Undav, which enforced nerves.

Celebrate VfB fans, Arminen supporter hold

Under the long-term chants of the early Stuttgart fans and the never-ending support of the Arminia supporter, the Bundesliga club was too light-hearted in the second phase of the game with his chances: Woltemade failed on Kersken (47th), and aimed next to the goal (51.) and both covered together (54.).

Arminia Bielefeld was no longer able to get two classes higher against the VfB, which had played two classes in the past season, and had to lay on not to be a debacle. This was only difficult because – again after a Bielefeld mistake, this time with Oppie – millot from a half -right position, the ball shot into the goal.

A quarter of an hour before the end, the Arminia was close to the honor goal, but Nübel first parried strongly against a tight shot by Stefano Russo and a little later against an attempt from a pointed angle by Leon Schneider.

Bielefeld cheer late hits

When Bielefeld’s Christopher Lannert prevailed on the right and fit sharply inwards, Julian Kania was in the right place. Five minutes later, Josha Vagnoman wanted to head a flank from right back to goalkeeper Nübel, but placed the ball into his own stitches.

Bielefeld now stayed on the pusher and tried to use the favor of the late hour. After a corner in added time, Lukas Kunze first found his master in Stuttgart keeper, and Joel Felix also did not achieve success against the goalkeeper of the Swabians.

Bielefeld came back into the game too late – Stuttgart celebrates.
