VfB Stuttgart | Atakan Karazor reveals: “It just didn’t work out” at BVB

In recent weeks, Atakan Karazor has earned a regular place at VfB Stuttgart. On Friday, the defensive midfielder wants to continue the recent upward trend with his teammates and annoy Borussia Dortmund (from 8:30 p.m. in the LIVE ticker). The native of Essen has special memories of BVB.

With stabilizer Atakan Karazor in the starting XI, things were looking up for relegation candidates VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. Eight points from four games brought the Swabians out of the red zone, the belief in staying up is back.

Karazor and Co. could take another step towards remaining in the league on Friday evening in the home game against Borussia Dortmund. For the 25-year-old it is a reunion with his former employer, from 2015 to 2017 he played for the second team of Westphalia.

According to his own statement, the fact that it wasn’t enough for a chance of probation in the professional team doesn’t bother him.

“Dortmund had an outstanding team at the time. I was hoping to make it to the pros, but it just didn’t work out. I don’t hold grudges. On the contrary: I’m still grateful to this day for what I learned at BVB. That’s why the game on Friday is also a very special one for me,” revealed the German-Turkish in “image“-Interview.

Karazor doesn’t want to talk to VfB Stuttgart until the summer

How long Karazor will play for VfB is unclear. The current working paper of the six expires at the end of June 2023, talks about an extension have been postponed to the summer.

“I want to focus fully on the sport, contract talks might distract me,” explained Karazor and added: “Of course it also plays a role whether we stay in the league. The fact is: I feel very comfortable in Stuttgart.”
