VfB Stuttgart announces Guirassy update

This news will delight all fans of Bundesliga soccer team VfB Stuttgart: As the third-place team announced on Friday afternoon, top scorer Serhou Guirassy has returned to training with the Swabians. The hopes of a timely comeback for the striker continue to rise.

As the club from the Ländle confirmed, Guirassy returned to the training field on Friday, where he completed his first running exercises on the grass in an individual session with athletic trainer Martin Franz.

The 27-year-old was injured in the Bundesliga away game at 1. FC Union Berlin almost two weeks ago and had to be substituted after just 30 minutes with a thigh injury. At this point, the attacker had already scored for his colors, and the Swabians ultimately won 3-0 at the Eisern.

The only Bundesliga game that VfB Stuttgart played a week later without Serhou Guirassy in the squad ended with the first home defeat of the season – 2:3 against Hoffenheim.

The hopes are all the greater that the Guinean can return to the Swabians’ team training as soon as possible.

Guirassy even overshadowed Bayern star Kane

Guirassy even completed parts of the individual training with the ball at his feet again, which also fuels hopes of a quick comeback in competitive games.

It currently seems possible that the Stuttgart high-flyer could be back in the VfB squad for the home game against Borussia Dortmund next week.

The center forward has astonished the whole of European football this season with his outstanding goalscoring rate. In his eight Bundesliga appearances so far, Guirassy has scored an incredible 14 goals, eclipsing even Bayern superstar Harry Kane, who has twelve goals.
