Stuttgart (AP) – Coach Pellegrino Matarazzo from VfB Stuttgart says he is not yet concerned about his future if the Swabians are relegated again.
“I’m not currently dealing with relegation, but with staying up. Everything’s still possible. What happens in summer happens in summer,” said the 44-year-old Italian-American on TV broadcaster Bild when asked if he would also go back to the second division with the club.
“It’s not just me. I have a few bosses who also have something to decide,” said Matarazzo. “I’m fully here at VfB and I’m doing my job 100 percent. But first of all, the goal is to stay in the league.” The coach’s contract in Stuttgart is valid until June 30, 2024. VfB is in relegation rank 16 in the Bundesliga two games before the end of the season.
