The US clothing group VF Corporation has brought additional industry expertise in-house. On Monday, the parent company of brands including The North Face, Vans and Timberland announced the appointment of Trevor Edwards to its board of directors.
Edwards has many years of management experience at the US sporting goods giant Nike, where he worked from 1992 to 2018. Among other things, he was President of Nike Inc. from 2013 to 2018, where he was responsible for a wide range of tasks. Since leaving Nike, he has worked as a strategic advisor to consumer goods companies and investment firms.
According to the group, he has been a member of VF’s Board of Directors since October 22nd and is, among other things, a member of the committees for human resources and compensation as well as corporate governance and responsibility.
Richard Carucci, Chairman of VF, welcomed the new addition. “We are very pleased to welcome Trevor to our board,” he said in a statement. “He is a highly qualified executive with extensive experience in the apparel and footwear industries who will be valuable to VF in further deepening our brands’ relationships with consumers, strengthening product innovation and improving operational efficiency.”
