Veurne is also getting ready to receive refugees

Zuidburg is a residence with assisted living apartments. Three beds were placed per bedroom and other basic materials are also provided.

The city of Veurne has two interpreters and a number of buddies at its disposal to assist the refugees and to familiarize themselves with the building and other facilities in the city, such as schools and shops.

It is not yet clear when the refugees will arrive, but the first measures have already been taken to assist these people, most of whom are mothers with children, in their daily needs. The flats in which the refugees are staying are located on the ground floor and have not been sold or rented out.

If more shelter for Ukrainian refugees is needed, the owners of the unrented flats will also be asked to make this available for these people on the run for a limited period.
