The 37-year-old is traded for a special position at the Austrian racing team. Red Bull motor sports consultant Helmut Marko is now becoming clear.

The speculations about a return of the four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel to Red Bull in a official role are persistent. So stubborn that Red Bull Motor Sports Advisor Helmut Marko has now commented on the rumors-with clear words: “Not up to date at the moment,” the Austrian told the TV broadcaster Sky at the Grand Prix of Austria in Spielberg.

Even more: “The succession plan is something that is of course in the room, but there are no concrete names and no concrete conversations.” The 82-year-old has a contract with the team of world champion Max Verstappen until the end of 2026.

Vettel himself recently commented on a possible future role at Red Bull in the ORF podcast “Sport am Sonntag”. “I still get on with Helmut Super and we are also in exchange, as well as the topic,” said the 37-year-old. However, these conversations would not yet be “so intense and in depth”.

In the past, Marko had already publicly described Vettel as “ideal successor candidates”. The Hesse comes from the Red Bull junior program and won all of its four World Cup titles with the team. At the end of 2022 Vettel ended his career as a driver in Formula 1. Since then, the father of three children has been particularly committed to sustainability and social issues.
