Veterinarian confused after ‘attack’ on practice: “Who comes up with this?”

The owner of Veterinary Practice Wormer, Marinda van Ekris, is very frightened. The windows of her building were smashed last night, according to the vet, it looks like a ‘targeted action’. “The perpetrator drove up, stopped in front of our door, smashed the windows and quickly drove away.”

“It almost feels like a personal attack,” Marinda tells NH Nieuws exactly twelve hours after the incident. “We all have a close relationship with our customers and do everything with love for the animals.” According to Marinda, this violent gesture makes the team feel ‘personally attacked’ on their work.

“I suspect it is an angry customer. The perpetrator drove up so purposefully, it was not someone who happened to walk by.” The practice was able to observe this with their own camera images.

“Who makes this up?”

The vet was called out of bed around 2 a.m. by the neighbors across the street and was dumbfounded. The disbelief is also great the next afternoon, “why does someone do this? Who comes up with this?”

Van Ekris would prefer to talk to the perpetrator. She therefore appeals to his conscience with a message on Facebook. “For our peace of mind, it would be good to start the conversation,” she says of the call. If it is a dissatisfied customer, Marinda believes that they can always work it out together, without violence.

The practice therefore has its own camera images, which clearly show the perpetrator’s car in particular. “I hope the police can find out something from the CCTV footage,” she says. Van Ekris filed a report this morning.

The windows are now boarded up for the safety of the building. The working week will start tomorrow with a black edge. “But we’re just going to try to work,” says the owner firmly.
