The Veteran Search Team searched Hoorn for the missing Thomas from England this morning. During this search, a deceased person was found in a ditch on the Maelsonstraat in Hoorn. This person was taken out of the water. The police inform NH that it is not yet clear whether it concerns the 20-year-old man.
It is Friday last week when Thomas and his friend Tom go to Hoorn where they spend the weekend with a Dutch friend. Saturday night during a party things go wrong when Thomas uses too many drugs and falls into a psychosis.
He becomes aggressive towards Tom and the other Dutch boy and destroys a few windows and other items in the house. Attempts to calm him down are fruitless, after which it is decided to take Thomas to the hospital. The trail ends here when it turns out that he was never handed over to the staff.

A major search is being launched, which will be continued today, in which volunteers from the Veterans Search Team search an area in Hoorn with about thirty people and eventually find a body. “It is just after 10 am when members of the Veterans Search Team find a body in the water of a ditch,” said a police spokesman.
“Police divers then recovered the body. It is currently being investigated how the person entered the water and what the identity is.” It is still unclear how long the police will need to do this.
