The French resale platform Vestiaire Collective has filled two top positions.
Marie-Christin Oebel has been appointed to the role of global chief marketing officer, Vestiaire Collective announced on Wednesday. Samina Virk will also take over the North American market as CEO.
Oebel will be responsible for global marketing strategies from the Paris headquarters. She has held various marketing and strategy positions at L’Oréal, Zalando, McKinsey and most recently at Doctolib over the past 15 years.
Virk brings experience as a leader in online fashion retail. She comes from within the company and helped launch Vestiaire Collective in the US in 2015. She has also worked for companies such as Ebay and Target.
“The fashion industry has reached a turning point. It’s an exciting time to be joining Vestiaire Collective and leading the movement towards a circular economy for fashion,” said Virk. “With an increasing global footprint, we will now accelerate the company’s expansion and continue to grow the brand and business in North America.”
