It was actually an episode that was meant to be broadcast next year, but due to the sudden death of Sis, it was decided to broadcast the program now as a tribute.
“This is the last episode of Here Are De Van Rossems with her contribution”, was the picture at the beginning of the episode. Sis and her brothers Vincent and Maarten visited Zierikzee there.
Voice-over Philip Freriks said at the end of the broadcast, which showed a compilation of 48 episodes with Sis, that it was a “remarkable combination of annoyance and pleasure”. He concluded with: “Thanks to her unique contribution, the series has become a success.”
The three Van Rossems had just started shooting a new season of the series, when Sis died unexpectedly on May 4. At that time, the season recorded last year was still being broadcast on TV.
GET USING IT TO BE NO MORE
Maarten van Rossem recently talked about the death of his sister in a podcast. Two days earlier, Sis fell into her house and soon fell into a coma. And she never got out of that. I still have to get used to the fact that she is no longer there,” says Maarten.
He says candidly: “I’m not someone who, when they hear ‘she’s dead’, immediately bursts into unstoppable tears and starts writhing on the floor. Not at all. But I’m slowly getting used to it. Now I walk around and I think: gosh, it’s also sad that she can’t experience this day anymore.”
It is not yet known whether Here Are De Van Rossems will continue with only the two brothers. Broadcaster NTR and Maarten and Vincent are still discussing this.
