Roxana, how were the beginnings of the business?
I was a CONICET scholarship recipient and a teacher at UNLP.
After the doctorate I set up the Embryology laboratory of a Private Clinic in La Plata.
I designed and organized the laboratories, I took care of the accreditation of the Clinic by the Latin American Network of Assisted Reproduction (REDLARA) and by the Argentine Society of Reproductive Medicine (SAMeR).
I worked in this Clinic for 20 years. I had a very close relationship with the patients. The doctors told them “go see Roxanita and she will explain it to you.”
Twenty years later I felt like I had reached a ceiling and left the Clinic. There I decided to found my own laboratory just for initial fertility studies, an “interactive laboratory” where people could do their studies and also ask questions.
At that time I also founded the fertility laboratory at the San Martín de La Plata Hospital, the first cases of In Vitro Fertilization were performed in this public hospital in 2017.
I received many inquiries via WhatsApp: photos of studies and patient stories. I worked in the hospital and in my laboratory; I interrupted my work to answer.
I separated laboratory work from consultation work. I created the Fertility Clarísima brand and wrote the book Misteriosa Fertility.
What are the services you provide to your patients?
I offer consultancies aimed at explaining the different fertility treatments and guiding decision-making during them.
-Situations in which fertility treatment is indicated.
-Differences between different treatments.
-Differences between scientifically proven treatments and those that do not yet have sufficient scientific support and therefore are not covered by social and prepaid works.
-Possibilities of success, times, and challenges of the different treatments.
-Guide in the design of an action plan aligned to the life of the consultant considering age, economic situation, and lifestyle.
What are your differentials in the sector?
The difference is that I am currently not a member or employee of any Fertility Center; I have no conflicts of interest.
I can give my opinion freely and objectively.
The professionals who talk about this topic work in Private Centers. Others do not have technical experience but are psychologists or former patients who, based on their own experience, are encouraged to go beyond it.
