“There is a long way to turn 1, so we will have to get out well,” warns the two-time champion, who will not have a slipstream

“Checo’ is going to be there in front for sure, because we have a good car in the race”, says Max

Max Verstappen has achieved pole position for the Mexican Grand Prix in a difficult qualifying session that has featured the Mercedes, who will start second and third on the grid tomorrow. The Dutchman has had a good rhythm, but he does not let his guard down with a view to the race.

“It’s been a good qualifying. I’ve made some adjustments and I’ve found my rhythm,” summed up the two-time champion, who warned that the start will be a key moment due to the meters until the first corner. “There’s a lot of distance to Turn 1 so we’ll have to get a good start, it’s going to be key.”

The Red Bull driver has highlighted the balance that has been experienced in qualifying and considers that “it will be tight in the race, we will see what can be done with the strategy. Checo’ will be there in front for sure, because we have a good car in the race. When you go through the stadium, with the fans, it’s incredible to drive here and even more so in his case, as a home driver”, Max underlined, after his teammate finished fourth this Saturday.
