Verstappen and Red Bull are dominant, but this GP was no walk in the park for the Dutch super champion. Starting sixth forced him into a controlled first part, in which Norris and Hamilton, who had gotten rid of Leclerc’s Ferrari early (too early, unfortunately), seemed ready to fight for the victory. However, even in this GP we saw how Verstappen won not only thanks to his immense talent, but also thanks to the excellent work in the pit wall and his mechanics.

In fact, the choice to be the first to stop turned out to be a winning one, thus forcing McLaren to mark. Mercedes waited four more laps and this was quite fatal for Hamilton, who also saw an error by his mechanics and therefore when he returned to the track he found himself clearly behind Max, a disadvantage which in the economy of the GP certainly made a difference. The other correct choice was to do the first two stints, the recovery ones, with medium tyre, only the last one with hard tyre, but at that point in the leading position, the ideal situation for someone like Max in this moment is also number 1 in managing the compounds in the race.

Some regrets for Hamilton, therefore, who finished just 2.2 seconds behind his rival, while Norris did what he could, starting with the lightning start with which he skewered Leclerc’s Ferrari which started from pole. A race of suffering for Charles , who at the end also had to give way to Sainz and was also overtaken by Perez.
