Verstappen clocks fastest time in training in Austria with two red flags | NOW

Max Verstappen set the fastest time in the first practice for the Austrian Grand Prix on Friday. At the Red Bull Ring, space for the drivers was limited by two red flags.

Verstappen clocked 1.06.302 and was therefore more than two tenths faster than Charles Leclerc (1.06.557). George Russell completed the top three and conceded about four tenths to Verstappen (1.06,702).

In Austria it was known in advance that due to the sprint race – later on Friday – there is little room to look for the correct setting of the car. Two red flags in the first training made the time available even shorter.

After twenty minutes, Lando Norris raised a red flag due to a technical fault and later the session had to be interrupted again due to track debris.

The Grand Prix weekend in Austria continues on Friday at 5 p.m. with qualifying for the sprint race.
