The gannet is a large seabird normally found over the high seas. Members of De Hop therefore did not know what they were seeing when they saw such a large bird bobbing in a helophyte field south of Sellingen. De Hop has been studying the life of birds in the Westerwolde and migration over that area for decades. But a gannet in Westerwolde, that was very special.
