The hosts win their first match in the championship and leave Fiorentina alone in last place. Scamacca’s penalty isn’t enough for Palladino

December 6, 2025 (changed at 10.58pm) – VERONA

Verona beat Atalanta 3-1 thanks to goals from Belghali, Giovane and Bernede. The penalty converted by Scamacca was useless.

PRACTICAL HELLAS

In Verona alongside Giovane’s talent there is Mosquera for a 3-5-2 with an innovative midfield led by Al-Musrati. In Atalanta, Krstovic is the center forward, accompanied on the sides by De Ketelaere and Lookman, Zappacosta returns to the left after the flu attack. The Goddess does not show up in the best dress. It appears superficial, poorly applied. And even if Hellas is going through a delicate period, it is still a proud team with patchy quality. At minute 28 here is the spot that summarizes them with Al-Musrati’s throw, Mosquera’s heel and Belghali’s play that mocks Hien and Djimsiti. Atalanta conceded goals again after 342 minutes: the entire second half in Napoli, three entire matches and the first 27 minutes in Bentegodi. The players from Bergamo have more quality and the flashes of Lookman and De Ketelaere send shivers down the spine. But they are isolated episodes, without a plot that connects them. The soul, on the other hand, is the very strong thread of Hellas. That soul that leads Giovane to kick undisturbed to the limit while the Atalanta players seem to be watching the finger more than the moon. It’s 2-0, in the space of 8′ and this is how the first half ends.

GODDESS EMPTY

Palladino intervenes at the interval by removing Krstovic and Kossounou for Scamacca and Kolasinac. There is a need for a better contribution in terms of intensity and quality. And the Goddess’ coach gets nothing from his team: neither from the new ones, nor from the confirmed ones. So much so that in the 26th minute Verona also scored the third goal with the action constructed with the preferred plan. Quick restart after a ball lost by Samardzic (no handball by Bella-Kotchap), Belghali orchestrates, Giovane lights up and Bernede finishes. Atalanta is on the ground, Hellas flies in the mist of Verona swelling their chest with pride. And when De Ketelaere leaves he is visibly annoyed by the choice. Bella-Kotchap extends a helping hand to Palladino who, on a shot from Scamacca aimed at the crossbar, dirties the trajectory. For Mariani, recalled to the VAR, it is a penalty. Scamacca himself scores, but doesn’t ignite Atalanta’s enthusiasm. The match slips away and Hellas can have an evening as absolute protagonists with a 3-1 victory.
