Vermeij double pack: Freiburg II defeats Viktoria Berlin, football | 3rd League – SWR – Regional

At 2-0 (1-0) in Berlin, Vincent Vermeij was the man of the game. The Freiburg striker scored twice and led his team to their third away win of the current season. The streak of the Breisgauer continues: They have always scored points in the past eight games (three wins, five draws) and are in eleventh place in the 3rd division with 39 points. Viktoria Berlin is sixteenth (27 points).

Freiburg’s lead from a penalty

The Berliners had the first big chance of the game after just under half an hour. A cross from the left landed with Brooklyn Ezeh, who kicked over the ball from a good position in the penalty area. Freiburg, who had not been able to create a dangerous situation up to that point, surprisingly took the lead. Vincent Vermeij converted a penalty (31st minute). Previously, Robert Wagner had been fouled by Jakob Lewald. The Berliners still had more of the game.

Vermeij increases for SC Freiburg II

Vermeij was there again after the break: After a corner by Patrick Kammerbauer, the striker increased the lead to 2-0 (56 ‘). It was his seventh goal of the season. Viktoria Berlin couldn’t find an answer to Freiburg’s second goal, who had little trouble keeping their 2-0 lead over time. Next Saturday (March 5th, 2 p.m.) the team coached by Thomas Stamm welcomes FSV Zwickau.
