Vepa is expanding significantly in Emmen and Hoogeveen. In total, more than 20,000 square meters will be added. 11,000 square meters in Emmen and 9,000 square meters in Hoogeveen. The cost: 30 million euros.

Construction in Emmen has now started. If everything goes according to expectations, the new building will be ready by the end of 2023.

Janwillem de Kam, director of Vepa: ‘Here we will expand our metal production and realize our new Circular Center, where we revitalize, renovate, disassemble and store furniture’, he says in a press release.

Circular garden

The construction in Emmen is on the site of the circular garden and food garden GreenField. ‘We are going to realize our new garden on the purchased 30,000 square meters that borders the existing plot. The new building will therefore not be at the expense of our social involvement and sustainability objectives. The Emmen Food Garden Foundation, which provides about 600 families with a food package through the Food Bank Southeast Drenthe, will be given a new place in close consultation with those involved’, says De Kam.

Construction will start in Hoogeveen at the end of this year. Here, the capacity of the wood panel department is doubled and the so-called production line is being updated. The upholstery shop is also being expanded and modernised.
