Venice not on the list of endangered world heritage after announcement of tax on day trip tourism | To travel

The UN World Heritage Organization UNESCO, based in Paris, had recommended that the tourist attraction be recognized as an endangered heritage due to the large number of tourists visiting the city and global warming. According to the experts, Italy would take “insufficient” measures to combat the decline of the city.

The measure is intended to discourage day-trippers from going to the city and apparently convinced the committee not to include Venice in the list. Italian Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiulano speaks of “a victory for Italy and for common sense”.
