Venhuizer assist king Nick Doodeman lands at the Tricolores

Nick Doodeman plays in the red-white-blue of Willem II this season. After an unfortunate period at SC Cambuur, the former player of FC Volendam has now settled down with the first divisionist from Tilburg. The 25-year-old football player from Venhuizen hopes with the Tricolores to find the way back up.

“Of course I also experienced beautiful moments at Cambuur. We became champions and finished ninth in the Eredivisie. Those are great things, but for me personally it went a bit less. It was not what we expected from both sides,” says the West Frisian, after the end of by Willem II Practice match won 2-0 against Telstar. Doodeman was also accurate for his new employer.

In his period at FC Volendam Doodeman gave the assists to a and this ultimately resulted in his transfer to Leeuwarden in February of 2021. With Willem II, Doodeman hopes to be able to give many successful passes again. “I’m not going to put a number on it. I just want to show my best game again. Hopefully the assists will come again.”

North Holland tandem

At Willem II, Doodeman encounters another North Hollander in the attack. Striker Jizz Hornkamp from De Rijp should be the end of many successful attacks this season. “He has only been injured so far,” Doodeman answers when asked if there is already chemistry between the two. “I haven’t trained or played with him yet, so that all remains to be seen. It would be nice if we could build a good connection.”
