The Italian cycling professional Andrea Vendrame won the third stage of the Tirreno-Adrativeo in wet and cold conditions.

On the section between Follonica and Colfiorito/Foligno, with 239 kilometers the longest of this year’s long -distance trip, the driver kept the nerve -sprint from the DECATHLON AG2R La Mandial team. So far, all three daily victories have been going to Italians.

In the overall ranking, Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers), who had triumphed two days ago at the first stage. After an attack three kilometers before the finish, the Italian was intercepted from the field and took tenth place.

Slant far back, Ackermann gives up

The podium completed the British Tom Pidcock (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team) and Romain Grégiore (France/Groupama-FDJ) after over 3,000 meters of altitude. The best German on the stage with numerous falls was Jonas Rutsch (Erbach/Intermarché-Wanty) on the 52nd place. Pascal Ackermann (Kandel/Israel Prime Minister Tech) gave up after almost two hours of race.

Milan falls and falls back

Jonathan Milan, who won the day before and was in second place in the overall ranking, experienced a bitter race: the Italian from the Lidl-Trek team fell 23 kilometers before the end, but dragged himself to the finish. He fell far back in the classification.

Thursday from Norcia to Trasacco

The 190 -kilometer fourth stage in Norcia starts on Thursday. The wavy route ends with a consistently flat circuit over wide streets in Trasacco.

In total, seven stages are driven on cycling by bike ride. Last year, the two -time tour winner Jonas Vingegaard (Denmark/Visma – Lease A Bike) had triumphed. He is not at the start this year.
