Veli Kavlak, who sweated the Beşiktaş jersey between 2011-2018, announced that he had put an end to his professional football career. The experienced football player did not play in any team after leaving the black and white team.
The 33-year-old midfielder, who gave an interview to Heute from the Austrian press, said that he had a psychologically difficult process for many years due to his shoulder injury.
Reminding that he has not been able to play since 2017 due to his injury, Veli Kavlak said, “Actually, my retirement is a situation that has been known for a long time. But I couldn’t make an official statement because I was mentally devastated. I was very upset, I couldn’t make myself accept to quit football for a long time. “Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do to go back now,” he said.
Emphasizing that the injury on his shoulder still continues, Veli Kavlak said, “I tried different treatments. I had a total of 15 surgeries, 9 of which were on my shoulder. I tried very hard to return. But I realized with sadness that this would not be possible.”
