Veja opens the first German store in Berlin

Veja has opened its first store in Germany in Berlin. The store, which opened its doors on Monday, is located on Alte Schönhauser Strasse in Berlin Mitte.

The entire Veja product range is offered in the 100 square meter store: lifestyle and running models for men, women and children. In addition to the collections, the store also has a cobbler service that customers can use to have their sneakers cleaned and repaired – not just by Veja.

“A lot of people have said to us: ‘You shouldn’t open in Berlin, it’s difficult there,'” says co-founder Sébastien Kopp in a statement. “But we didn’t care, we always open projects in the places we love the most.” In Berlin, Veja sees a “balance between coolness and the weight of history, between modernity and the artistic underground scene”

For the store concept, Veja worked together with the Berlin architectural office Gonzalez Haase. The interior features a similar minimalist design to the rest of the Paris, Bordeaux and New York stores – concrete, oak and steel have been used, and the shelves are made of rammed earth, a material specially designed for Veja by a German craftsman.
