Veilig Huis Oostende helps victims within the family…

The Flemish government is releasing an additional nine million euros per year and deploying 95 additional staff members to combat domestic violence. In addition to the new branch in Ostend, ‘Safe Houses’ will also open in Kortrijk, Leuven, Ghent and Halle this weekend. Flemish Minister of Justice and Enforcement Zuhal Demir inaugurated the building in Ostend. “Through a joint approach, it is increasingly possible to break the often vicious circle of violence within families,” Demir tells Belga.
