The indoor football players of Veerhuys from Hoorn provided a resounding surprise today by winning 5-6 against fellow townsman Hovocubo. The brand new cup winner was leading 5-3 five minutes before the end, but in the end the victory was still for the visitors.
Last Friday won Hovocubo the national cup against FC Eindhoven. In its own Sports Hall De Opgang, Hovocubo seemed to be enjoying a simple afternoon in the Hoorn futsal derby. After twenty minutes it was already 3-0 for the home team. Veerhuys scored one more time before half time: 3-1.
Far into the second half, the game turned completely over. With a 5-3 lead for Hovocubo and five minutes left on the clock, Veerhuys eventually came alongside and even took the win. David Albert made the successful comeback with two goals in the last three minutes. Albert would eventually be good for four goals in Veerhuys’ spectacular victory.
