The Vatican delivered three parts of the Parthenon to Greece during a ceremony at the Acropolis Museum in Athens on Friday. The Vatican Museum has kept the parts in question for more than two centuries. It is a “gesture of friendship and solidarity with the Greek people,” said Bishop Brian Farrell, secretary for the promotion of Christian unity.
